Nature Preserve again. This fungi had completely covered this old tree stump. This, by the research I have done, is classified as Bracket Fungi...their is many different kinds of this fungi in this bush with all different colors and sizes in which I hope to post.

Amazing. I have read, that the biggest creatures in the world are fungis. But reading about it and seeing such a big guy is very differnt. Thanks for showing.

Wow, this one is massive. These always make me think of coral, I guess because they conjugate together this way. Nicely captured, Gerry.

OMGoodness..look at all the textures living there on this fungus-rich stump..well, I guess fungi, really. It's wonderful and there are so many shadows and elements to look at. I almost didn't open it, as sometimes, I don't know what to say about shroom pics, but this was well worth the effort and it's in my faves. It's going to make a keeper of a desktop image too..thanks so much :)PJ

Great shot of this fungi. Lovely texture and itīs amazing how a little mushrrom can take over a stump like this. Excellent post.

I love this type fungi. It's design and construction is a marvel to behold. I usae to have a lot of it around here. haven't seen it lately. Thks for providing some to look at.
