I thought this was a nice arrangement entirely produced by Nature on top of this fallen tree in bush. I am pretty sure these mushrooms are from Puffball grouping of mushrooms.

nice capture Gerry - strange names for mushrooms, but I love the arrangement too - well spotted and photographed! Patti

Yes, I think they are puffballs...we have them here in the northeast as well, and I think the dead giveaway is the vent on the top that spews the spores out when you step on them, or in my case, when I go over them with my lawnmower....yes, my yard is extremely shaded. The ones here sort of stink when they are disturbed, so even though they are not my favorite, they and the log, the leaves, branch and especially the beautiful green moss have all come together to create a lovely natural still life. thanks :)PJ

Ditto to what PJ said. There is a very nice contrast in this shot too.

A beautiful natural 'arrangement' The moss looks damp and the textures are great :)

Brown is such an undervalued colour I feel, this is a very nice image Gerry.

This is really lovely! Nature sure does its own artwork eh? All we have to do is capture
the moment and then we get to keep it forever. You were there at just the right time for sure...I love those earthy naturaly colours and then there is the rich green. wow...talk
about pretty! Nice stuff...verena
