These little delightful birds are swarming around my birdfeeder now just outside my kitchen window..it's still warm enough that they're not going for the oil in the thistle seed, but they're craving those fantastic oily sunflower seeds (just as this one is here) that we all watched grow and bloom and delight our eye this last summer and into the fall. It's wonderful how you've captured this one. Just imagine yourself trying to balance that far out..the center of gravity so far away from your grasping point that I can't describe it..the photo says it all. Thanks for this mental breather..I'm going back to view the pic again and stretch my imagination while I put this one in my faves, and hope I meet it in the voting booth...again, thanks so much :)PJ

another beauty!! you are good at catching these birds and well in focus too! They never sit still long enough for me, but there again most of the birds in the UK are not quite as interesting as the ones you are photographing. Well done Gerry! Patti

Excellent photo, Gerry. This is one of the friendlist of birds and a real talker when putting out fresh chow. Love your capture of this one!

Beauty is no quality in things themselves. It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them, and each mind perceives a different beauty.

Spectacular, Gerry! I was watching these little guys this morning. My daughter put a piece of suet in the bird feeder outside the dining area window and everyone arrived, the chicadees, nuthatches, juncos, titmice and one really fine, fat male cardinal. My cats love to sit on the dining room chairs and watch them and chatter at them. It's a sight for all. My husband said he's going to build me a lean-to with a tarp to hide in outside and photograph the birds! LOL This shot is one of the clearest bird photos on this site. I really like this one a lot.

I love chickadees. My gramma's house is always swamped with them- they have the cutest little tune when they chirp. Thank you for such a great capture!

This is a charming photograph. I am impressed by the absence of any motion blur. I doubt that this little bird remained still for very long. So this is a great fast shutter speed shot. Sharp as a tack, with wonderful colour saturation too. Great work.

What a perfect shot this is, it makes a beautifull desktop.
I just viewed your gallerie pages, and think this is your best bird picture.
The others where great to, but this one is striking.
