Another songbird taken last week out at Nature Preserve. This and all my recent bird posts have been shot with my new 70-300mm zoom lens in which I am quite happy with.
Yes, this is truly unique looking... the depth of field and the colors the get brought in from the sky are in perfect balance with the bird. And the bird has such a perfect pose going. This went in my favs :-)
The new zoom and your talent combined to give a most remarkably good picture.
The blurry background is a perfect foil for this delightful bird.
Into my favourites :)
I notice you get backgrounds which are very complimentarry to bird, this is no exception and quite beautiful.........was the very first bird I painted-plactic model
Just wonderful, Gerry. That lens is a great buy! It certainly can't have been a disappointing purchase. Gotta git me one o' them soon! The lil fella really stands out from the beautiful blue background. A favorite.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

What a neat capture of one of my favorite birds to watch at my feeders Gerry! I like the image with the tuft up because that is how I most often see these feathered friends of ours. You have done a noble job of capturing them with your deadly zoom lens and your eagle eye. Good work. Right to my birdie folder on my hard drive. Thanks you for sharing this capture with me ;=)
awww that is a beautiful capture Gerry! You are the expert at capturing wonderful bird photos - they just flap their wings if I get close or disappear up the tallest tree!! lol! Patti

I had this one as well in the voting booth and came by to pay my respects to you, the author of the image.
Excellent clarity and detail. Perfect DOF, in my novice opinion.
And the background colours could not be more complimentary. The branch is the finishing touch, as it adds another element and a great visual line to your wonderful composition here. You could not have scripted this one any better.
Well, if your new lens is creating this kind of magic, I'm going to have to go out and buy one after Christmas, if Santa doesn't read my letter this year! I too was a proud voter in the booth and had to come and see who took this perfect 10....and it was you :) not surprised, just pleased. I'd love to know how you achieve that backgound as well. I have a few theories, but....well, I can see why you might want to keep this secret to yourself..lol...wonderful job ;)PJ
Yes, we are happy with your lens as well when you upload such close up captures to our enjoyment, Gerry. Outstanding clarity and DOF. But since I am more color sensitive than technique conscious I have to notice that the bird stands out well against the cold background.
Excellent capture of this lil guy. So clear and well composed. Nice details too - One can count his feathers, and look at those cute feet :) He's perfectly perched on that branch. Gorgeous blue against his white body. The background is good at bringing out the blue colors. Super job Gerry, and thanks for these wonderful bird images :^*>
Very nice capture - both images of this bird are beautiful. Looks like your new lens is working well for you. I love the clarity of the bird against the blurry backdrop and the colors are great!
