Wednesday morning I got out to Nature Preserve about 9:30AM. I meet a couple who have two Beagle dogs at 10:00AM and with my Beagle we walk our dogs together. Anyways as I was early I took my camera and went along blacktop path that is near parking lot and ventured off path through high grass where I have always seen evidence that deer have been there. I was early enough that there was nobody else around. As I got to end of high grass and to edge of bush I came across about five or so does right in front of me. This shot here shows two young ones, probably born in spring. In far right is seen what I think is mother. Again I got a rush and took some pictures as they did not seem to be spooked by my presence.

what a wonderful shot Gerry! The middle deer definitely spotted you - he is looking right at you! I can understand the rush - deer are such beautiful animals! Patti

These are really nice shots Gerry. It doesnt really have a "center" of focus, but non-the-less the camera work is great. Very nice.

Gerry, nice series. The problem with photography in the woods is you get so many obstructions. Trees and brush and such. I get the same problem when I photograph birds. You did well to have gotten this shot. I'd say 60/40 that my camera would have focused on that tree in front of the deer.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
