I have been down to the river (Detroit River) the past week checking out waterfowl and these Ring Billed Seagulls have been putting on a show for me on the ice along shore. These guys were chasing another seagull away when I took this shot. I used Nikon D50 with Tamron 70-300 lens set at 300mm. Shutter was at 1/1000 with aperture at f/5.6 and ISO at 800.

Great shot, wonderful clarity and a fantastic pose from these three. I like the way you have captured the cold grey atmosphere of the environment also.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Gerry this is great, I love it! I added it to my favorites and also have it as my desktop now. Great timing in that they are all doing exactly the same thing. It's also amazingly clear and sharp. Looking at them, I wonder what their squawking meant.. to them I mean. The look really into it.. it meant something to them! cheers, Quiet

I really like this shot.
And I am sure that ISO 800, which make a shot a little noisy, only contributed to achieve this gey and grainy effect that empasizes the aggression of the bird.
Perfect composition, my hat off for you!
