A neat photo Gerry
You say it's a Kestrel !! Compared 2 British / European Kestrels this Canadian bird looks like a budgie with a hooked beak. Don't get too excited with me now Gerry diplomacy isn't my finest quality.
Thanx 4 sharing

Life's around said Phil the 35 millimetre cameraman. I recently went to the doctors, and said I've got icon fever, but he told me there was no cure for the disease.

This one and the last are both great, but I really love this close up. You're done an excellent job with both of these views, my friend :)

Ah yes, we get these when they migrate through here. They're gorgeous! This one is a male. (females are all brown.)

Whatever is blue in the background really makes his orangey feathers stand out. He's a beauty!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Beautiful bird, Gerry. I think it could stand a dash of sharpening. None the less, it is a keeper.

Great photo of this bird. The details are excellent. Seems way to little to be in the hawk family.
