Another upload taken on misty morning. I spotted this preying mantis in the reeds and set my camera up to take pictures of it and then had to strain my eyes to find it again as it so much blended into the green color of reeds..

Life's around said Phil the 35 millimetre cameraman. I recently went to the doctors, and said I've got icon fever, but he told me there was no cure for the disease.

I'd love to know where you were when you took this. I'm surprised you found him in all that green! Great shot. He's almost a blade of grass himself.

You found Uncle Manny!!! We've been looking for him for years!! He's related to the phasmids on my father's side, I do believe. Of course my mother was a fairy through and through, so we can't be sure how the connection took, but you did a very nice likeness of him that I think I'll hang on my desktop ...:) :) :)

Ohhhh I captured a couple of photos of a preying mantis last week while I was in Spain, but they are not as good as this Gerry! I will post one later this week.

Super shot - he is looking right at you - amazing heads these creatures have!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
