"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
Fantastic Gerry, I guess I need to go in the morning if I want to see them. I was there late yesterday afternoon and they were no where to be seen, so I headed to the riverfront and they were gone from there also. I did see a Great Blue Heron though second time so you might want to check that out. West of the bridge along the waterfront.

Gerry, your "Mallard" series has been wonderful. It's difficult to choose, but I think I like this one the best -- not only because of all the interesting reflections, but also because of the deep colors. Plus, you finally featured the girl as the star of the show!
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Lovely Mrs Mallard.
When I have finished catching up with comments I am posting her sister and babies :)
Will not meet this high standard ! The intensity of the surrounding colours really makes her stand out, the the reflection is lovely. - excellent, Gerry.
This lady's is certainly in a reflective mood Gerry
I imagine it's a young Mallard as I'm unfamiliar with the bill, and plummage markings much like Your Canadian Kestrels hey !!
Keep them birds shots coming

The male mallard vs the female is the much more colorful bird. I've enjoyed viewing your Duck Series, some very nice work. I'm commenting on this one because it's my favorite of the series and there is no male mallard in this one. Just love the overall image Jerry. Great focus, Marvelous background of reeds. She looks nice and cozy snuggled by the shore. The reflection of her and the reeds is sensational. What a perfect mirror image of her head. The Series is wonderful ... for me ... this shot is the standout. Nice work my friend.
