This little guy showed up at birdfeeders yesterday at Nature Preserve. When I seen him I thought he was from Wren family. When I looked in my field guide on birds could not positively identify what variety or Wren he is...possibly Carolina Wren.

Gerry,

What a nice picture of the Wren.
We call it: Winterking.
And an old legend, it is the bird that can flight the highest. Higher than the eagle.
The wren climb on the eagle and if the eagle can't flying higher. Than fly the wren, and he wins.
It's an old Indian legend.

I hope that I have translate it good.

I wish you and your family "Merry Christmas"

Wil

I remember about 15 years ago, a wren built a nest in a hanging flower pot outside my front door. I watched every day, from the time the eggs were laid, until the baby birds finally flew off. That was pretty cool. ..You got another great picture here, Gerry. It looks nice on top of the feeder.

Regardless of the variety, it's an absolutely great photo. I always like wrens because I could use smaller bit when making birdhouse. lol This is really good on your part.
Merry Christmas Gerry.
