This plant caught my eye for two reasons yesterday morning. I took this picture from a front yard of a residential house that borders on Nature Preserve where I frequent. As I was saying this plant caught my eye because it was backligted by the morning sun and also because it had green foliage this late in Winter...looked nice coming up through snow.

I really like this Jerry. It is as though the plant is not supposed to be in this climate but in the tropics, and to be seen surrounded by snow is surreal! Well spotted!

A wonderful splash of color in the white snow. Your shots are always so nicely crisp.

I love the lighting in this shot, Gerry. I sort of took a picture like this after the big snow storm, but it will stay in my shoe box. Yours is very good. Mine isn't.

Looks like "Bear Grass" or Yucca, These make a beautiful bell-shaped white flower.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. COME ON YOU GREENS, UP THE ARGYLE.....

Gerry this has simplicity and sophistication all in one package - the very definition of elegance. The fencepost anchors the image and frames the simple subject at the bottom of the frame. The texture of the snow provides the isolation that makes the subject so prominent. I downloaded this image and desaturated it while boosting the contrast about 15%. I like the result very much, though black and white doesn't do so well on Caedes. B&W allows the shapes and textures to dominate where in color the shades and tones draw the attention from the magnificent shapes you captured so well.
