For the past week I have been checking out a pond in a city park near the Nature Preserve that I frequent looking for returning birds that are migrating North. Early last week as I first drove near this pond just after daybreak I would see this pair of Mallard Ducks perched on this log near edge of pond. I took pictures each morning of them but did not get effect I wanted...till the morning I took this shot. This morning The sun had just been up for no more than 15 minutes and it had been cool the night before. The white you see on log is frost. The conditions were just right for this shot. Yesterday morning I took a walk around pond without my camera and just my binoculars and counted four Female Canada Geese nesting...so should be a lot of Goslings around in a few weeks...providing they all survibe.
Regards, Cornelius.
