My apologies to EJ...it appears one of his Egrets has come north to Canada. This young Egret showed up again in creek yesterday morning and I could not refrain from taking pictures of him. Some have asked how I get so close to these birds...I must explain. Pretty well all these water birds are taken on creek in Nature Preserve. This creek is maybe 30 yards at most in width and about 200 yards long. It is right beside the road with some areas of 10 yards of shoulder off road to bank of creek. I drive my van on to shoulder and get right close to bank and take my pictures from front seat of van out the window and i am using a 300mm telephoto lens. The van acts as a blind. So it does allow me to get very close sometimes to birds and they see the van and not me and are not scared away.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. COME ON YOU GREENS, UP THE ARGYLE.....

Another great photo and presentation Gerry. EJ probably knows the name of this one. I'm sure I saw it in one of his shots but can't remember which one. Thanks for the info on you wildlife blind. Have a good day.

Gorgeous, Gerry. I'll have to try that trick sometime. Is the lens image stabilized, because I can't imagine you use a tripod from the van? The shot is sharp either way.

You nailed this one buddy, great photo from your car. I can never get close enough with my 200mm lens to use my car as a blind.

This is just beautiful Jerry, you really got a soft feel and lovely glow on the feathers. The framing's just great too, makes just the right angle with the bird.

I knew I was missing an Egret. Thanks Gerry for Capturing Him. You did a Fine Job. You can keep that one. I have plenty more.
