Yesterday morning at daybreak when I was walking into bush to the meadow area where I have been taking pictures of emerging wildflowers for past week or so I encountered this Buck on my trail. I was able to get a few shots of him...he does have about 5 o 6 inches of antlers growing. These antlers right now have a velvet texture to them.

Fantastic photo Gerry, nice DoF and good focus.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. Everyone has photographic memory; some just don't have the film. COME ON YOU GREENS, UP THE ARGYLE.....

Beautiful, I love how he's looking straight at you, as well as the way the path twists. Thanks for sharing!

Stunning capture! At least from my experience with deer. The light and back ground are nice. He's a beauty.

Wonderful how he stopped and posed for you. I have seen so many deer lately crossing the roadway. I could never capture one because they go so fast!

I would love to run into some more deer at the refuge. Sooner or later I probably will. Nice shot, Gerry.

...what amazing early morning encounters you have Gerry! It is like a dream - what a lovely surprise - I would have been so excited, I am sure I would have frightened it away! A really beautiful capture!

Isn't he a proud little deer! And now you've made him famous. I went on our little dirt road a few days ago, and lo and behold there were two 'teenage Deer! I'm sure the mama was very close by...there is something so special i seeing animals like this. I'm so happy you got to take this photo..and now many others will enjoy it also...verena

That buck looks very small and thin... I think that if I could see his side I'd see his ribs showing. I like his expression, though!
