While I confess to not knowing my different species of Dragonflies I spotted this fellow a few mornings back as his iridescent color was brilliant in early morning sun. Looked him up in field guide of Dragonflies and find he is from Ebony Emerald family.

Not much of a bug person Gerry, but as far as insect portraits go this is a beauty. The soft shaded b/g really isolates the subject. Great close up work.
