Beautiful, Roger! I hope you have an opportunity to capture tonight's "Blood Moon". LE posted a lovely shot of the moon and now it's coming our way. Bravo!

The Nikon Coolpix are cool cameras, Giz. Hence the name.
Great detail.

ive taken so many shots of the moon i doubt i will ever take another, experiment with all different kinds of settings, moon phase, time or night, my fav. about almost a full moon, 300mm at f8 1/80th sec. ISO as always 100.

now for you to take this handheld with a p/s blows my mind giz..i gotta get one of this little things. your right when you told me they take great pics. cant beat the price for a pocket backup camera. WOW! what settign did you have it on "make stylo feel bad mode" why did i get a DSLR? dont answer that bob..lol!

Brilliant capture of the moon in such detail. I see you've captured such clarity and different colour tones of the craters. Right into my favs, my brother worked for NASA but now is retired.

A great capture of your bald head, Roger, I mean full moon. Nice details in the shot and good work for a hand held photo.

Great effort for a little camera. Was that on full zoom? 750mm equivalent? The hybrid VR works a treat. Well done!

I recently re-watched "Apollo 13", so this moon series fascinates me. Wonderful detail in all of them!
