My nan does have some beautiful stuff in her garden. I loved the focus here for some reason, I'm not expecting it to get a high c-index but it doesn't matter, I love it personally. Comments appreciated :D xx
That is a really beautiful dahlia. I like the shot too. I would have tried to get a wee bit more of it into focus, but you are certainly off to a great start with your Canon!
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Gem, darlin, nice shot. I think it would have come off better if you would have focused on the center leaving the tips blurred instead of the other way around. If you have macro capability, you can widen your dof (raise your fstop). the flower is on a nice angle but since the bud is on the right third and angled the way it is, I feel like I'm missing the flower, like I passed it and didn't get a good look. I think if the bud was on the left, it would give more of a feel of just getting to it. If you know what I mean.
