Setting out on this photographic night shoot I just wanted to capture some pieces of this enormous Parish church St Mary Redcliffe which is in the heart of Bristol. This ancient building is now totally surrounded by large busy roads, & towering buildings.

Only it's ancient spire pokes above the encircling clutter but not when Queen Elizabeth I was visiting it in 1574, she said: The fairest, goodliest, and most famous Parish Church in England.

This upload is given to Kelcey / _SNAPDRAGON_ from Downunder, I'll just enjoy the history of this landmark site while you can enjoy it's religion too Kelcey. :o)

Here's another song from Suzanne Vega, it's my 3rd music link of hers. To see this dark image properly you may need to calibrate your monitor.

nice. I prefer this to the first one I commented on. The level of detail and distance from the camera works better here, considering the low light, high noise issues. Nice colour again. Have you tried playing around with tone and saturation...?

Thanks for the useful comment, & enquiry neighbour. :o)

I simply gave one click on adaptive lighting, brightness, & contrast, while the sodium floodlights give the stone a warm colourful appearance. As for the noise this is a later shot when the sky was darker, & this jpg is only partially filtered because I prefer to keep most of the natural detail intact.

I like the deep colors in this one Phil. Still has good detail inspite of it. You have done a good job, I like this one better btw. :) =^^= Sandi

Great Picture. good use of shadows to show off the features of the building. It might be fun to try and make an HDR image out of this building too.

Like I said I do love Churches, especially ones with so much history. Your so lucky to live in a place where there are so many lovely old churches and buildings. Excellent work.

Another finely lit view of this great looking church/cathedral. Nice color too, Phil.

A very good shot Plossie. Great color and detail. Have you any shots of the church with those beautiful painted glass windows lit up?

This is even spookier than the first one, because of the darker sky and lighting. Another good one, Phil.

A great shot, Phil, with tons of detail taken in very trying conditions. It would have been so easy to overexpose the image.

That is one fantastically dramatic image Phil, so dark and gothic, I love it! It's hard to believe it's only a parish church and not a cathedral. It's also hard to enjoy it's religion from the other side of the planet but I'll try:) Thanks mate.
