Brr I can't imagine living in a tent for the winter. I'm cold at night even with 3 blankets, a space heater, and four sturdy walls plus ceiling! Very good shot though...it looks quite cold. The blue border...I like it, and I don't like it. Lol. The blue works very well with the tent and the snow, and it is very original...but black would go better with the trees. Just my opinion though.. I like it like this too! Good job...I'm going to get some hot chocolate now to warm myself back up again! =)

Someday we'll all be gone, but lullabies go on and on...they never die. That's how you, and I, will be...

I really like the picture. It looks like a great wigwam. Hope they got a fire in there.

There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again.

Wow, the shadows and the snow on the tepee make it appear just that much colder. I like the blue border because it matches what you are trying to convey to the viewer...that is....man it is really cold out here. Overall very classic iamge. Well done. Thanks for posting :~)

I like the blue border and the composition. A real tipi, or lodge, would have been made of tough buffalo hide, the top would have been drawn tighter, and of course a hide flap to seal the entrance. With animal pelts and buffalo robes covering the dirt floor and a nice wood fire in the middle, the tipi would be quite snug inside. Smokey, but snug!

Actually, if this tipi had the door flap closed, the smoke vent lessened at the top, and a fire going inside, it would be comfortable enough inside to take off your coat and hang out in your tee-shirt...and, maybe even your old college running shorts. Native Americans way back didn't care to freeze any more than we do and so, if set up properly, tipis and earthlodge homes were fairly comfortable affairs. The two longer poles, seen here leaving the top of the tipi on the right and sticking up and out over the left, were attached to the vent flaps on top and, by lifting and moving them to one side or the other, you could open or close the vent at the top as much or as little as you wanted. I don't recognize the geometric shapes and patterns on the tipi... west coast?
