Unless one has been there, it's literally impossible to imagine just how huge this thing really is. It's almost overwhelming standing under it. This is looking straight up directly underneath, a little different Point of View. Eiffel Tower, Paris, France; September, 2015.

Oh, I love shots like this, looking straight up into a massive construct (like this one and that one). Loaded with repetitive lines, contrasts in color and light, an a perspective not normally seen. I'm assuming you mentioned Point of View because it's now in the contest? It's perfect for that. If you were visiting there I'm sure you discovered that the tower, like New York's Empire State Building, was intended to act as a dirigible mooring station... [see images in Paris and in New York].

Definitely saved and into my favorites, thanks. A little more history: Gustave Eiffel also built the Statue of Liberty, chosen to replace the original builder of choice after the man died in 1879.

Happy Trails

Yes, I've been there many, many times. Not sure about the dirigible docking, but it was suppose to come down after 20 years. However, it worked so well for radio signals they left it up. Now, no one can image the city without it.

I just tried to look at the other one of yours in my Friends list, "You Even Get An Eiffel Looking Straight Up", but it's been removed. I'm guessing it was a slightly different version of this one? But you liked this one more?
