When I first visited this place over 25 years ago, it was multi-colored: reds, browns, greens, turquoise, blues--everything. But in the interim something had happen to the algae, many of which didn't survive, and it was mostly white with a spattering of browns. Yellowstone National Park, USA.

This sure grabs ones full attention, Yellowstone, is such a beautiful park, it's truly awe inspiring as is this beautiful image of yours. I was there in the early 60's. I'm wonder if the park can give any information as to the why of the changes. tigs=^..^=

I was there only was, very briefly, and the sky and light was very poor. It looked nothing like this. Gorgeous!
