Not sure what the name of this sandstone formation is, but it's pretty impressive rising a good 40 feet up out of the desert. Arches National Park near Moab, Utah, USA.

Clarity is second to none!...amazing sight, lots of depth. the sky? a little to over done in the HDR oven for my taste. I think a little more natural one would have accented this pic nicely, just my opinion is all.

Considering that lower point on the left side, it looks to me like the massive hand of some giant, made of rock, punching its way into our world. I'd bet the Indians here used it as a visual signpost, guiding their way from one place to another, or they may have applied some religious connotation to it. Whatever the case, it's a striking photo. Moab has always struck me as a place where most of the debris and trees have been cleared for something like a giant casino... they're now just waiting on crews to start building stuff. Hmmmmm... much like my state ;oP

This sure is an impressive formation, mother nature is wonderful. I really like the editing, but I agree with Stylo about the sky, just a tad overdone in my opinion. tigs=^..^=
