The most famous art museum in the world at night. It's also a work of art on its facade: The statues on the second floor outside are all different, having different faces and representing different people. While some feel IM Pei's pyramids outside are a detraction, others feel it adds to the artistic nuance of the place. They also let light in during the day and you can see the weather/sky from the entrance, which is down below. Paris, France.

The composition of this photo excels....it is actually awe inspiring.... you have the complete sensation of this magnificent building in one shot. Fantastic in black and white. A real favorite.

I agree with Vicki, that having the full structure in the shot is magnificent. I don't recall seeing the entire building in one shot before, the pyramid usually being the telling element for me. When I saw this as a thumbnail the Hill house in the 1963 movie, The Haunting, came to mind. Your capture of the Louvre, however, has no wide-angle distortion. Outstanding.

(PS: A bit of interesting trivia... Robert Wise, who directed that chilling bit of cinematography, also directed The Sound of Music! Go figure.)
