Based on image D. typical GRiMmery. felt like a change from the horizontal bordering. subtle iconic undertones of my continuing worship of gore......i cant help but see a big blood cell :D

oh yeah the bloodthirsty GRiMness is luscous in this one, i see the icon type thing coming out of a tree trunk....then it looks like a capilliary with a single blood cell effortlessly being carried by the flow.....very very nice i like. good use of the original image, taken well out of context. : {D

Very nice work Graeme. I love the idea you got from the original shot. One more image that proves that the imagination among the artists on caedes.net is without limits. :D

Cheers Avi..i just couldnt wait any longer to do my second image... but i wonder when we are going to see one of yours int he contest... i know your working on it (seen it with my own eyes) but still got plenty time left :D

Thank you Mary..There is always a whole lot of the old horizontal going on and i wanted to try and escape from the standard desktop shape, so im glad you approve of my new vertical trend :D

Imagination or the work of a pleasantly demented mind, Klas ;) there might be a thin line between genius and madness but the lines even thiner between imagination and chasing cats around the garden in your underpants..or is that just me?? :D

Lastly thank you Joost.. i too am always partial to a nice bit of red...good to see you enjoyed it as much as i do :)

er..."chasing cats around the garden in your underpants"....? i have a feeling that not many folks on caedes.net would not be doing that....lol....subject to certain drugs i might well indulge in such behaviour, but not on ones own spontaneity. the walls are not high enough in this neighbourhood. :p

Hehe. I think you are right Graeme. And it's not just you. The cats in my neighbourhood stay away. That's all I have to say... :P I liked the term "pleasently demented" btw. Suits my state of mind perfectly.

not one of your better images... i think you could do a lot more with it. the red is nice but so many images with just the red, it'd be good to see you do something new. the image is also too flat and maybe you could do more with the original image.

ok its the spirit of critical comments from christmas past, come to haunt me.. will i change in my scrooge like image methods???? lol i thought i had done quiet a bit with the orignal image.... im doing a fair amount of new things.. but as i implied in the description i wanted to get a little 'old skool'.....hmm colour, ok i might be persuaded by your comment there.. but then again.. i picked the colours on two levels.. one to appease my and others gore hunger ;) and the other was a reaction to what i could see on the first page of the contest gallery at the time i made the image. im not being defensive ( ok i am i a little) i just disagree with your comments (except maybe the flat part.. but then there wasn't enough in my image to create great depth this time.. as i felt the layers to be intimately linked and didnt want to seperate them to much).... but thank you for a dose of honest point of view ;) remind me to return the favour sometime.. :D

well lucy it was a monster edit... i cut out the chestnut and then decided to edit out the split.. making it a whole fruit again.. the rest of the image was severly zoomed croped streched skewed and kpt projectored... colours were completely changed into my red black dreams... then i had to filter it up lots to regain any of the texture left and to creat as much extra as i needed.before i shaped it up with nudge...and started applying my usual filters and contrast adjustments.. not forgeting a few layers along the way and then the final put together.. lol... the only thing that hasnt become niegh on completely abstract was the chestnut.. which i futher disguised in its blood cell nimbus halo set up :D.. lol.. but sci-fi is good too :D

i like this one a lot. i see a demented face staring out of an orb that is suspended in a red shaft of light in the middle of perfect oblivion. but maybe that's just me.
and the only reason i'd chase a cat in the garden is if she was mine and she was trying to run away. not that she would. you'd think being away from me killed her the way she howls when a stupid hollow wood door is between us...hehe ; P

Gorgeous - I love the colours, and it doesn't interfere with the visibility of my desktop icons.
