Rummaging around in my grandad's old chest i came across this vintage photo folded up inside his old photo album! Bit of a 'light' theme for me.. but i had lots of fun antiquing the colour compostion. The un-edited stock.xchng images can be seen HERE.

Clever. Right down to what I'm assuming is a water ring from a glass or whatever and I love the folded paper idea. Which takes you longer? Making the image or finding the images to fit your ideas? I guess I'm quite inquisitive today but, did overlaying the paper do all the color or did you still have to tweak?

cheers very much :D making the image always takes longer than finding stock to work with.. but stock finding is a continuous process i started the image with just the hand, girl and dragonfly. then the background was found once i was happy.. then more images were hunted down for extra work and finishing touches.. the process is the same for most of my images. The creased paper needed a fair amount of work done to it before i even added it into the image, and once added there are 3 layers of that piece of paper each fine tuned and coloured independently! and then tweak tweak tweak and tweak again..!!!!

There's an emptiness inside her and she'd do anything to fill it in. Though it's red blood bleeding from her now, it's more like cold blue ice in her heart. She feels like kicking out all the windows and setting fire to this life. She could change everything about her using colors bold and bright, but all the colors mix together...to grey. ~*DaveMatthewsBand*~

This image is amazing, It looks so good! I have no idea how you managed to make the folds in the photo look so realistic. I am very impressed, deffinately adding this to my favourites and a complete 10 from me!

Makes me want to go and try and add some folds into a photo of my own now.

thanks guys very glad you liked it! Disciple, someone else suggested that i could do a turtorial about how i did this, i've done a few tutorial bits for the tutorial gallery.. but they take so long to make i dont know if i could face another one! :D Basically, its just understanding how to use the tools in adobe photoshop really.. especially making use of layers and blending options!

This is a magnificent piece of work and a beautiful composition. I don't whether to be more impressed by the feat of imagination in combining the original pics in this way or the incredible execution.

very talented aging of picture, aswell as a great job just putting it together. this sort of thing takes alot of patience, aswell as a good eye to see the final product before its completed, and keep working the right direction. very nice

I really like all the fine touches you did with this .. the paper, folds, wrinkles, cup-ring .. etc

shows a lot of attention to detail went into it .. great job

in my opinion the monochrome scheme works better for this than Fey Faux Fungi because it's an old, wrinkled, sepia-toned photo
