Sugar maple's leaves differ from those of red maple (Acer rubrum) in a very distinct way: the leaves of sugar maple have only large lobes while red maple's leaves have smaller teeth within each lobe (if you don't believe me, check out my Acer rubrum photo). This is a small feature which helps to distinguish the two species from one another. Hope you like!

Nice and simple with the contrasting black background. This is a good desktop image. I like the fact that the leaf isn't perfect too.

If leaves could talk! Thanks for the information about leaves.. I'm sure I learned that in science class at one point or another, but who retains information from school? :-P This leaf looks like it's been through a lot... I think the imperfections are really what make this real. Thanks for sharing. :-)

The savage beauty and tawdry ugliness of nature in one shot. Well done. 10/10
