This image was taken on safari in Chobe National Park in Botswana. We watched these two lionesses for some time hunting for impala at this watering hole. Not only were they unsuccessful, they also had to patiently wait their turn (until the herd of elephants cleared away) while trying to get a drink of water. At one point one of the lionesses, using one of the other safari trucks for shelter while hunting, looked up at the people in the truck as if she were ready to eat them! I will never forget that hungry look...
