The Monarch butterfly is one the most readily recognized and beloved insects in North America. With its vivid orange and black markings and often bold behavior around people, it seldom fails to create a smile on the face of those who see it. This one posed for me on a Cosmos in our 2009 garden. Comments welcome-Thanks for viewing!

Hollis - The colors are magnificent in this close up photo. The sky, as backdrop, offers a wonderful contrast to the plant and, of course, the star of the show. Kudos! Thad
