In the far north of Scotland in Sutherland, Europes last true wilderness, almost all the roads are single track, and to let oncoming traffic by there are these things where you pull in. When you see an oncomig car the trick is to know when to wait or make a dash for the next passing place. We tended to wait as the scenery wasn`t to bad ;O)

Well again Ian..I can't say its a bad pic, cause I'm sure I don't know everything, but I personally like your fractals better. :) Seems alittle too dark and sharp to me.

Well who has the right of way, I'd think if you were both driving the person closest to the passing place pulls over. Yeah I know they'd be haulin' me in. LOL Great country Ian, I wouldn't mind stopping either.

That is just cool. A very neat idea. :) Here we have so many four lane roads that you never see things like this. Too cool!

Ian, this is a wonderful post. I like it the way it is but I would love to see it without the charming signpost. That bit of water in the distance is a-callin' to me! Beautiful desktop! ~Mary~

How quaint! Makes for a great image, Ian, but it does look a bit dark. Very fine comp.

Moody and atmospheric, stunning scenery...you have captured it all so well. Excellent composition. I would hate to break down or run out of petrol up there, especially without a mobile phone....Jacquie

I like the angle you shot this from Ian! and yes I have a lot of experience of driving on these roads! I just hate it though when the passing points are out of sight and you are nose to nose with another vehicle and they refuse to reverse! lol! Of course, it is a lovely landscape. I don't think there are any bad ones on Scotland!
