Captured this scene (2017, 11-24) while we were staying at the fabulous Chateau Lake Louise in the heart of the Majestic Canadian Rockies in Alberta. We were on the top floor looking out at the beautiful Lake Louise. When the sun decided to come out making it look like it's coming from behind the clouds. Just before we had to leave for Grande Prairie, Alberta

I'm still in Alberta until Saturday when we fly home from Calgary. Trying my best to leave comments on the many post I have, since I haven't been around for a while.

Thought I'd put this into the current contest called: Backlighting. Let me know your thoughts please.

Many Thank You's for your friendship and comments in advance. Everyone here is so kind to me.

Have a great day, ♥ Skates

I've seen a number of photos of Lake Louise, some of them from this same angle, but never one with this amount of snow or meteorological activity going on. In the other photos it's simply a beautiful place, almost unreal like a scene on a calendar. Your capture, Pat, makes it come alive, more real. Terrific job and lucky you for being there at the right time and knowing what to do with it. S&F

I like the monochrome foreground with the lighting in the center adding a splash of color right where the eye is drawn by the angles of the mountains and the lake shore.

A nice view with the dark hills on either side and the snow covered surface contrasting each other. A well taken shot.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
