Breathtaking...I hope there aren't so many budget cutbacks that we lose our presence in space!

I am in the military and I think that this project will be our step into the future. Anyone that is part of this should be proud and excited to make history.

Give it seventy years. I'll be an old man, but changes are coming. As soon as land becomes really tight on Earth, there will be a strong push for exploration. At the same time, technology should have progressed to a point where space exploration becomes a feasible project -- it is not currently. ISS is merely a Jamestown experiment in my opinion; population will occur when economic benefits are to be gleaned from travel.

None of which has the slightest thing to do with this nice image. Very nice.

Doesn't this just make you realize how small we are compared to this beautiful universe?

Manned space flight a major tool in man's attempt to guarantee our long term survival. Earth is already to small for us all to live. The space station is a small but major step.

This is the best proof of what humans are able to do when they can work together. It's a shame that people are fighting because of insignificant cultural, religious or political differences. If we could have lived in harmony as citizens of the Earth, international space station could have been finished 50 years ago.

Is it true that the space station is the brightest object in the sky at night?
