I couldn't pass this one of our granddaughter sitting near the wood stove next to a rare spot of sunlight coming through the window. I aged it a bit into a B&W. Remarks are welcome for sure..

Just a very thought provoking shot Joe. Aren't grandchildren great? I like the B/W aged look. It gives the photo soul. Good use of light. Nice post.

Again well done Joe. You've captured that ability of children to be totally absorbed in simple things, as they are exploring that relatively new environment that is planet earth. Your composition, the sunlit wood floor, and your B&W treatment are great. I love how she is partially in the shadow and partially in the sunlight, expressing the child's emerging understanding of the world around her.

It's also a very effective desktop.

I don't think I can add anything after reading gisele's comments. You've given this a very nice, artful look.

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

It's a haunting portrait. I love the treatment.
