The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed. ~Albert Einstein: I hope you all enjoy this image. To me this is a most mysterious flower. Have a nice evening. Dwight.

Lovely.. You have the Colombine at it's peak and the gem beside it is lovely.. This is my favorite variety of the flower and have several growing in my garden.. Yes, they are both gems.. So is your photograph of them..

Hi Dwight
Nice shot of the flower...but for me you could have left the gem away.
But thats my personal opinion.
The gem leads my focus away from the more then beautiful flower.

Sheer, unadulterated, complete beauty. What an awesome job you did with it. Is that a diamond next to the flower? Perfect.

Absolutely Gorgeous! I have never seen such a flower. I like everything about it. I especially like the contrast between the beauty of the flower and the drabness of that peace of coal. :-0

This is simply gorgeous, well presented...

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

The flower is outrageously gorgeous. The lighting, colours and textures work so well together. What did you use for the backdrop? Just curious.

What a beautiful presentation of our state flower. The columbine is such a delicate looking little lade yet thrives in the difficult dry climate of the Colorado Rockies. The only thing that might have made your image perfect is perhaps a black velvet background. I think too I might have staged the flower and gemstone a bit more to the left as they are "facing" right. Nicely done. anne :-)

Tell me if you like it or don't but be sure to tell me why! I promise to always give honest and sincere (albeit gentle when necessary) critiques. MY NEW YEARS TIP for all, go have some fun with your new gear you got for Christmas. Do some things you rarely or never do. If you always shoot scenics, go shoot macros (or as close up as you can get.) Practice on different subjects, try new lighting techniques, bracket your shots (shoot the same image at different exposures and different apertures), get down low and shoot from your back, your belly, and your knees. Bend, twist, lean and climb up on things. Shoot toward the sky (carefully - blown out sunlight is NOT attractive :-) Just do something different and amaze yourself then share with us :-) Love you Caedians.
