This is a daylily seedling I saw in a garden near Orlando. I did not change the colors or do anything else except remove a couple of spots. Please feel free to suggest improvements.

I first thought this was a fractal - such is the shape and the colour of the flower. imporovements - cant really think of any, except perhaps you could try experimenting by taking the flower a little offcentre.
Great post - one of the best flower images ive seen.
Thanks.
Sam.

I`m not usually to into flower pics and came in to see this as I thought it was a fractal but I`m glad I did. This is beautiful. So unlike most most flowers this is so unique looking. I love the colours and the three petals. You have captured this very well. Thanks for sharing this.

Hi JoAnn,
Finally found out how to access members sites, and saw your Daylilly. SPECTACULAR.
Centering a subject is generally cosidered, against the rules of good composition.
Knowing when to bypass convention, is a gift. You did great.

Joanne, this image is a great start, but the contrast is low and it's too dark. But in a way that's a good thing. The dark colors mean you have a lot of data in the shot that can be brought out. I suggest working it in photohop or GIMP or Photoimpact 11. Go to the "Levels" tool and adjust using the eye dropper (Photoshop), or by hand. With the eyedropper attached to the tool, you take the white one and click on your whitest white, then with the black one you click on your blackest black. This will automatically adjust your histogram to a near ideal range of contrast. You will be amazed at how nice this picture looks...I know because I already did it.

What amazing colors that daylily has! Lovely shot and I like the dark blue-green tone of the leaves that set it off. :)

Wow, this is a beautiful photo of a very unusual lily. The lacy edges and the creme and lavender color is gorgeous! Good contrast between the bloom and the green lily stalks. I think you captured it perfectly and couldnt suggest any improvements!! Great job! :-))

Wow. this lili can grace my desktop morning noon or night. Another stunning capture. This flower is so colorful and varied in it's colors. It is gorgeous. Yellow and purple always have been complimentary colors. Love those furled edges. Great work.
