such a wonderful fragrant flower here.. there are some spots in New Orleans where the air carries the smell of the magnolias and its all that you smell.. the angle and presentation are done nicely, but for this photo, i think the focus is a bit too soft..
Ohmigosh, this is so awesome and beautiful!!! It's in my favs. I absolutely love the detail on the inner part (what do you call it?) of the flower. I can't say enough great things about this.
I'll bite, Why?
Must be cuz her name is Jennifer. You did a great job with this, maintaining the infinite variations of off white, and the intriacies of the central subject matter. You did just great, Jen.
Are you sure this is not your birthday cake?
Splendid picture, and quite different to the one I posted shortly.
Good work!
Paul
P.s. what camera/lens did you use for this photo?
Whew Jen, what a shot this is! I don't think I have ever seen the center of the magnolia look quite as good as you have shown me! The detail is great and the white of the petals isn't glaring. Your composition is excellent as is the quality and clarity and color. Another of yours to reside in my favorite's folder on my hard drive so I can run it in my screensaver slideshow and be able to see it quite often! Thanks for the post :)
Thanks also for visiting ~soft pink~ This rose was on the side of the street and I didn't have any water bottle with me, just my camera. I also was simply joking about competing with Marilyn. She has often been referred to as the "Rose Queen"' on the site, a title she has definitely earned. I love her dearly and do not feel the need to compete at all. It was a joke on my end that seems to have been taken quite seriously by several on the site. I am sorry if there was any misunderstandings and I will be more cautious of what I put in my descriptions from now on. Thank you for the warm words you left for this image. Your continued support, comments and critique are deeply appreciated :)
I love these closeups because you see things in a flower you've never seen before. I also like the fact that it's not perfectly centered - it gives you a different view of the flower. Beautiful!
These super close-ups are always a big turn on to me!! Myself, I would've postioned the centering lower vs. higher. Soft 'n' dreamy and ever so creamy!! Delicious!!
