varigated sandstone structure. the name of the triangular shaped "things" in the area are the "cottonwoods teepees". someiobe told me that they are ancient dunes (???). i think that nearby are cottonwood trees, thus the name.
Sometimes a good photo gets a little help from mother nature. I love the way the shape of the clouds echoes the curve of the landscape and rock layering. Beautiful bright color, too.
This is a beautiful shot, no room for improvements here, well maybe a itty bitty one.....lol (The tittle) Cotton Woods just doesnt fit. But who am I to say, I cant come with names either.......lol I added this to my collection..........Thank youuuuu........;)
The emotions, the tears, of wasted years, wash over me like a cold wind out of the north. I tremble and shake, with each breath i take, and there's no one around me that cares. Dwight.
Yep, wind and rain has done it's work. great capture of the various colors and textures. The sky is beautiful as well, especially that one cloud that doubles back on itself. The earth tones and sagebrush look very natural. Nice capture.

Great color in this image Jen. Are those the cottonwood trees that i can see in the background? The sky looks so inviting and such a wonderful shade of blue. I think all the striations on the rocks are incredible and that you did one heck of a job in bringing them to us through the lens of your camera. Thank you for sharing this beautiful work of art from Mother Nature with us :~)
Interesting rock formations. And you composed it well with bright saturated colors. Very picturesque place you have visited Jen. Glad you shared it with us.
What an outstanding photo!!! Such great colours, perfect clarity and just gorgeous! The way you took the shots with the stones showing against that blue sky is awesome. The whole feel of this is warmth and solitude..Nice work my friend..............verena
