the tide was very low when i finally got there this morning. they are hoping that by taking absolutely everything off the boat, they will be able to move it off the reef when the tide comes in. (most say it won't work)

I agree. With it lighter, the tide may take it up, even further. Better to use some kind of floatation devices, while the tide is out.
Now, you can be assured, the tide will make a liar out of me.
well, if the water is shallow enough to hold the boat, this might work....2"x8" inch planks slid under the boat and pried like levers....or tied together and used as an in-water ramp....what's to lose, besides the boat and precious reef?
I could wile away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain

Great shot, Jen! Have you submitted it to the local paper? Aside from the journalistic value, I really like what the morning sunlight does to the colors and that sky is a never ending blue.
Great shot Jen ... I hope they find a way to get the boat free without doing much damage, but by the looks of it the damage has been done. Keep us up to date.

Not until the creation and maintenance of decent conditions of life for all men are recognized and accepted as a common obligation of all men . . . shall we . . . be able to speak of mankind as civilized.

BTW....Neat shot, of a not neat scene.
