Hi Jen. Haven't seen you for a bit. I love the ocean waves and the splash as they break. This one is exceptionally high. I would be totally fascinated sitting there watching it. Truly a lovely shot of a great phenomena.
Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.
-Josemaria Escriva
It's not just the wave that's creating a commotion here, upon closer examination the wind must have been whipping up a few waves of its own. It's certainly doing a number on the trees in the background. The skies look fairly dark and ominous too..was there a storm brewing here? :)PJ

Really superb breaker, Jen, and all the more so because of its contrast with the dark rocks in the foreground. Looks like a storm was brewing on the day you shot this. I love the whole atmosphere of this shot... a real 'mean moodies'. Excellent!!
Ditto on welcome back. An unusual day for sure. Any hurricanes around at the time? As long as there was safety near by, I would have liked to see this. Good photo.

great compostion here. i like not only the angle and perspective of the breakwater, and of course, that big splash, but also your background, which frames this nicely. there's certainly alot going on in this, and its all good :o)
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.
