Oh Jen, this is excellent. I loved the tulip trees out there but agree with your description. While they are most beautiful, they are presenting problems. But your colors and clarity are magnificiant and this is an exceptional post. Thanks for sharing this beauty. Thanks too for coming by my gallery and leaving your kind words.

This is a razor-sharp shot of this tree. The 'flowers' are certainly vibrant and must add a welcome splash of colour wherever they grow. I'm sorry the Hawaiians are finding it a bit of a thug. If this tree invaded England and bloomed in the depths of winter, I'm sure we'd welcome its loutish growth!
Great capture, Jen and those dark green leaves really punch up the reds,
Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.

I don't think I have ever seen this type of flower before. It is just beautiful! If they have too many growing, they can send some over here! Would love some of those in my garden! Lovely photograph Jen! - very vibrant colours and the contrast is amazing! Patti

Not until the creation and maintenance of decent conditions of life for all men are recognized and accepted as a common obligation of all men . . . shall we . . . be able to speak of mankind as civilized.

splendid! the vibrant reds here are great, and the detail is just right there! btw, when my grandfather was young, he had a job going into trees like this with ropes and pulleys to cut fresh tulips. i wonder if he'd seen anything like this. thanks for this post, as it's value to me is much more than it's wonderful looks
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.
