Hello Jen, I guess you're now back in your 'winter abode'... ;-) What an amazing landscape - looks like something from a sci-fi planet but I'm relieved to see the sky is 'normal' and definitely Planet Earth. I'd be a little concerned to venture into this sort of terrain without a 6-gallon water-cooler in the back of the car. Looks hot!... and you've captured the aridness of the place very effectively.

If it was not for the green, it could be from Mars. The layering of the rocks really adds to the photo.

this seems like a very spiritual place, where perhaps "the old ones" wander. very nice capture.

Great shot, Jen. I come from a place in Eastern Canada where the soil is close to this colour because of its high iron content, which literally rusts (ferous oxide is red) when exposed to the air. See example. I wonder if the same is true here in Arizona? Thanks for posting; very attractive and interesting shot. Cheers- Dave

This shot has most of the punch to make a good eye pleasing landscape. What lacks is the glory of the light and the time of the day which can create more drama. Well done.
