what i liked about this photograph taken at low tide is that you can see how far the starfish has moved. he's still alive and is anticipating the return of high water. he has stayed covered and has left tracks.
Besides being a very interesting subject, Jen, this is really well done. The shadows and light are in good balance - and I just like the way it looks!!! :))
Hey! how unusual...aint seen owt like this before...I know they have to move about...but haven't had the chance to see!..........Lovely presentation of what nature is all about.........
Wonderful shot, Jen. I love the way the tide left the sand in layers and ridges. Marvelous info about the starfish. That is wonderful how he looks like the sand because he has covered himself in it and awaits the return of the sea.
Fascinating. I've done my share of beachcombing, but I've never seen anything like this before. Not to mention the fact that it's an excellent photograph, fun to look at, and will make a fine piece of wallpaper!
Terrific path he's leaving Jen and I find so interesting that he's exactly the same color as the sand around him for protection. The texture and framing are great and it's really lovely on the DT. So glad you shared this one.
Can't always give individual thanks but I am so appreciative of everyone's comments and input. I truly enjoy seeing all of your posts and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks, Anita

I like the divisions through the ripples on the sand
and the somewhat monochrome aspect to it
the movement by the starfish is almost like motion blur and again well postitioned
the light from such an oblique angle makes the most of the available relief deepening the 3d of it
the fine detail in the grains of sand is superb
He's so sand covered I thought he was a sand creation you'd made! What great detail and lighting in this shot Jen. Also a compelling composition with wonderful energy. anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)

A starfish's footprints in the sand. Wow! I like everything about this photograph, from colors and lighting, content and framing, ... everything. Into the fave it goes and I think I'll need a patient starfish to brighten up my desktop tomorrow. Thank you for sharing this, very lovely indeed :)
Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.

I'm late as usual, but couldn't pass this by without saying how much I like it. A very simple image yet elegantly captured with perfect lighting to emphasize the textures of the sand and the definition of the starfish. Excellent!
