reflection of clouds in the water. the tide is quite low (far out) so what you see here is stuff you don't usually see. the little strip of sand would ordinarily be covered by the water as would the reef (the bumpy green thing). the reef would be very slippery as it is almost always underwater....i'm up on the beach hanging over the reef to take this photo. thanks for your comments

this is very beautiful Jen, but I am having a problem trying to work out the scale! Is that a beach down there?

You're a trooper, Jen, to position yourself for this great capture - the layers of color and texture are so interesting. Thanks for sending this out!

I too had a hard time orienting myself as to how large things were until I really studied the water, and it became a bit clearer for me. The vegetation in the foreground looked like mountains or hills when I first saw it, so I assumed that the "beach" area was very large. The water is so alluring and clear and provides a perfect mirror for the clouds and the sky. You don't need to see the actual sky in the capture, because it's so perfectly displayed in the water. The richness of the colors have a life and depth all their own, and I wouldn't mind being there :) I first saw this in the voting booth, and you'd better believe I gave it HIGH marks. It's beautiful in a non-traditional way. Thanks for sharing :)PJ

Thanks for going the extra steps to capture this wonderful image. So much to look at and the reflections are out of this world. Very Nice!!

There are indeed a lot of interestiing colors and textures in the shot. I don't think I've ever seen a reef uncovered like that up close.

Watch out for those rocks! I know what you mean by slippery. Great capture of the glassy water with the sky reflected between the protruding seaweed covered rocks. An unusual sort of picture, but very well done.

Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand. ~Margery Williams The Velveteen Rabbit~
