A telephoto shot with no tripod....yes I am one of those psychotics. Nice pic and pretty bird but I wouldn't have cropped it at the beach. I bet they bite too.

I loved the setting and always enjoy seeing captures of this regal and proud bird. It needs sharper focus but I understand what your up against when you have to crop. Then bird is still magnificent sitting in the tree limbs.

Yes, focus is a problem shooting from great distance and then cropping, but your composition is wonderful and so is the color. He is magnificent.

If you had hands like mine...this woulda been a disaster!....Good shot of a difficult range!....Maybe putting it through Neat Image could sharpen it a touch......Brilliant capture though!

since the color and composition are so good, and the focus is just a wee bit off, have you considered putting this through a filter? it would mask the blur, and maybe you'd wind up with a very different image

You're right, the sharpness is not up to your usual standards, but most of us would be pleased to get an image half as good. Under the circumstances, I would say it is great!

His pose looks so regal as he gazes outward. He contrasts nicely with the green branches. Pretty good with a cropping.
