Wonderful to see a Grizzly in its natural state........excellent image and it looks like you were far away as the telescopic effect is evident here.

Nice Grizzly pic...I would have been more impressed if you would have walked up to him and got a closeup. No pain no gain.

Awesome image, Jen - nicely composed and a great inquisitive look on this fellow's face. Staying in the boat is great advice!!

I can not imagine seeing a dangerous wild animal in its natural state like this, I think I would be petrified :)
A wonderful picture, thanks for getting me this close.

Jen, I agree with Jerry. This is a great picture, but why were you so far away? I have a macro in my collection of my dog's nose. I double-dog-dare-ya...no, never mind. I wouldn't want to be responsible for what might happen. Nice shot...

BTW, next time, after the bear leaves, see if you can gather some photographic evidence to answer the age-old question of "does a bear s#%t in the woods?" You can make history right here on Caedes.

Very nice post Jen with great colors and composition. The closer you get....oh yeah, that's close enough ;) Excellent work.

I've been off visiting my brother in Arizona and hope to catch up soon. I enjoy every single post that you my friends put out here and even though I can’t seem to find enough time to comment on each individual one, know that I've looked at all of them. I truly enjoy seeing all of the beauty we share from around the world and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks everyone, Anita

You will not have to tell me twice, but a close up would help. Maybe next time. Ask for volunteers.

Great shot. Lots of brilliant color and the composition is great. Was this taken on your recent drive?

What a portrait !!!
I would have never dared to get half as close !! LOL
The animal looks good-natured but from what I heard the females can be fierce when are with the little ones.
Still this teddy looks sooooo CUTE !!!

I think your position in the boat was a wise and prudent one, and I've been close to black bears on my walks in the evening, and their cubs, but never a grizzly. Any bear and I'm outta there. I think you have done an excellent job on this pic and all those macho guys..well, I'd like to see them do any better. I'm glad you were able to get this, get out, and send it to all of us. :)PJ

Oh my. He doesn't look all that fearsome, but I'll do as you say and stay in the boat! I hear they don't eat humans unless provoked. I'm wondering if he is a cub. Great capture.

You really need a long long long lens for them guys. You are right lets stay in the boat and it does have a really fast motor...right. I wouldn't want to test any theories about bear provocation. Good shot Jen.

Very fine capture, Jen! But even with a telephoto, that's too close! This guy knew you were there. BTW, where did you shoot this?
