the structure is better known as the citadel of cairo. this is a very small section of it. it was built between 1176-1183. the style is ottoman. the client was Qarash, lieutenant of Salah al-Din. got all that? enjoy!
Very impressive... Full of history. I like this picture for its high resolution, and I love the colors. What about the other sections? I hope you have more pictures of it. Thank you Jen (I don't think you are a "frustrated photographer" I think you're an excellent one)

Interesting....I just got done watching a movie that was set around this time period, just not quite in that location, but close and it hits the spot, cause I didn't really want the movie to end..::LOL:::great shot, as always...thanks.
