I know this, we have one growing nearby...[or one, very similar!]..but, for the life of me,. I cannot remember the name ...sorry!
whatever; it is a lovely picture and a very pretty flower!
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Hi Jen - it's called both Monbretia and also Crocosmia. An unusual capture for this time of year - it usually flowers in late summer, early autumn. Good capture against that shallow DOF.
I started making pictures round about march 2006 and then stopped in feb 2007 because I sold my camera to Harm Gunnink who is also a member. I'am now saving money for the sony alhpa a100.
Hope you like the pics
P.S. is it maybe possible if you have time to also give suggestion on how to improove my pictures but compliments are also good!
Hi there..I've been going thru your gallery and I saw this flower..you know we have the exact same wildflower on all the beaches here in Oregon! I love their vibrant orange colour..I've even seen some in red! Thank you for such loveliness. Verena
