Hi Jen - it's called both Monbretia and also Crocosmia. An unusual capture for this time of year - it usually flowers in late summer, early autumn. Good capture against that shallow DOF.

I think this picture is okay would've been better if you changed the background. so the flower is good but the background I just don't like.

I started making pictures round about march 2006 and then stopped in feb 2007 because I sold my camera to Harm Gunnink who is also a member. I'am now saving money for the sony alhpa a100. Hope you like the pics P.S. is it maybe possible if you have time to also give suggestion on how to improove my pictures but compliments are also good!

Now that the correct name has been ascertained, I'd call it a fire flower. It looks super there in its natural background..Lovely job..

Such a showy plant - it flames against that soft green background. Nice work.

Hi there..I've been going thru your gallery and I saw this flower..you know we have the exact same wildflower on all the beaches here in Oregon! I love their vibrant orange colour..I've even seen some in red! Thank you for such loveliness. Verena

What matters at this precious moment is what has always mattered: the dailiness of life, and that everything significant is slow and small.

Hott lookin' buds really spark!! The backdrop is very busy and does distract from the beauty of the subject.
