when in cologne an announced challenge is climbing to the top of the cathedral (on the inside). being the type who always wants to go to the beginning, the end, the top, the bottom, the oldest, the newest or whatever i took the challenge. there were lots of steps but it was well worth it. of interest, at the top there were nets and other protective devices both against pigeons and "jumpers" (the suicidal kind). the view from the top is spectacular. thanks in advance to those who view and/or comment. ENJOY!

I think you have another winner here. I found myself staring up into that thing forever. The perspective is stupendous not to mention unique. Hope I see this in the VB.

Great perspective in this shot and very well lit with good texture of the stone and glass.

Fantastic, Jen! Are we going to get the view from up there too? Did it have one of those winding staircases that seem to go on forever? Great shot!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I have seen pictures of Cologne Cathedral and always thought how beautiful it looks but they`ve alwasy been from the outside. Now I see it`s beautiful inside too, it looks kinda kalidascopic.Great job on the lighting.

Educational about the architecture of the time and the intricacies involved. Quite intriguing this photo and the lighting is terrific as is, of course, the detail.
