it is also known as the "lange jaap lighthouse". it is at den helder in the netherlands. it is 208 feet high....was built in 1878....is a 16 sided conical cast iron tower....and has a first order fresnel lens. it is quite magnificent. thanks in advance for your comments. enjoy!

The colors are nice and bright. Usually lighthouses look drab and lonely. Yours is nice.

the colors are so vivid. normally, I would want the focal point of the composition off center, but it looks great just where it is. great job

Jen, to (Navy) seamen and fishermen the Kijkduin lighthouse (nickname 'the Lange Jaap') is a very well known light house at Huisduinen, a tiny village in the vicinity of Den Helder, province of North Holland, The Netherlands, because the sea there (called 'the Haaksgronden') is very dangerous there, so they had and nowadays still have partly to rely on the 'Lange Jaap'.
