silly me, i expected to see lots of animals in africa but never thought about the birds. this might be a yellow parasitic weaver (or it might not). i tried researching it but this is all i found. anyway this bird likes to be on the ground or on short bushes. thanks to those who look and comment. enjoy!

They are very 'very' similar to our 'Yellow-Hammer' birds..part of the 'Chaffinch' family!..was this taken on your vacation..if so, they do migrate to those warmer climes!..but, this is a fantastic shot Jen!...wonderful mastery of the camera!...very nice indeed!

Jen, another great image. Perhaps not that spectacular in comparison with your other wild-life images, but at least that beautiful. Regards, Cornelius

Yes it looks like the yellow hammers we get here too but I think ours are more delicate looking. This is a fine shot - I feel really close up to this bird and the plumage detail is lovely with the sunlight highlighting it.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Ok, own up. You bought a stuffed bird, stuck it on the ground and took lots of shots to get this......No? :o))
Your pictures just keep getting better and better. This is just stunning.

Looks like it could fly off the page. Considering some of the "birds" around here it would be welcomed.
