hello, everyone! coal mine canyon is located just south of tuba city, arizona. it is in land that is the subject of intense dispute between the navajo and hopi tribes. i believe that due to recent redrawing of boundaries it is on the hopi reservation. i'm not sure about this. you can google it to find out more. anyway, i wasn't sure which category to use. it isn't a mountain and the close up would take away from the landscape section. there will be lots more of these. thanks in advance for any comments! enjoy!

Wonderful to see you posting again, Jen - Welcome Back!

Great colour and clarity in your image, although it sure looks hot and dry. The textures are superb. Nice shot!

Welcome back Jeenie. Love the colors in these. Almost looks like fall season for the rocks. Angle is great. The colored line in back almost looks like nature has decided the boundary. Very good post Jeenie.

What a fabulous view and the colors are so rich! I know you said coal mine, but here red soil is rich in iron. What a great geological post that just makes you stare in awe. I'm glad there's more to come and welcome back, Jen. Good to see you!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
